The Royal Wedding at The Berkeley

Sublime. The Royal Wedding event organised by the Berkeley hotel in Knightsbridge was an absolutely sublime evening; a night to remember.

It all started with receiving a superb gold and navy blue invitation. It is always wonderful to be invited to a black tie event, even more so at the Berkeley.

We were fortunate enough at Audrey Ametis Weddings to be a guest at the Berkeley 15 years ago. We still remember with great details the warm, yet, ever so polite, welcoming by the reception staff, the comfort and technology of the room.

After being greeted with champagne, cocktails and canapes, Matthew Saunders, Head of Events & Groups at the Berkeley London and their Social Events Manager, the wonderful Iwona Bobowska, the Berkeley’s new powerhouse, opened the ballroom’s doors giving on a spectacular royal wedding table: grandiose white flowers with gold ornaments from Larry Walshe, florist extraordinaire; superb cakes from GC Couture, located in Mayfair.

The Berkeley Royal Wedding

With all the guests we were at Audrey Ametis Weddings astonished by the elegance of the Berkeley Royal Wedding event, from the furniture from Great Hire to the exquisite china and cutlery from Duchess & Butler, the Berkeley treated us like royalty.

And when we thought we could not have been even more taken care of, we tasted absolutely divine food, with amazing entertainment (French opera!) in the background.

The Berkeley in Knightsbridge has three functions rooms to get married: the prestigious Ballroom, the superb Belgravia room and the beautiful Motcomb room.

We had the chance to catch up with Iwona of the Berkeley during this magical Royal Wedding event.

I remembered her saying that at the Berkeley “they strive to perfection”. Well it certainly shows.

P.S: Did you know?! Book your wedding at The Berkeley or a stay in a Chelsea Suite or above and enjoy a personal consultation with bridal couturier Phillipa Lepley.

Meet Phillipa over Prêt-à-Portea, before being chauffeur-driven to her Chelsea atelier. If you choose a Phillipa Lepley dress, you’ll enjoy personal fittings with the designer herself.
